GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two West Michigan moms are preparing for a life-changing trip to New York City—one that puts their children at the center of a national stage.

Their sons will be featured on the jumbo screens in Times Square , part of a national campaign shining a spotlight on people with Down Syndrome .

For these moms, it’s about showing the world their kids’ abilities and the impact they’re making here at home.

“Now we get to pioneer the way for our children as well, to live more independently and be seen and valued,” said Grand Rapids mother, Alicia Mathieu.
