Students at McDowell High School will return next week to a fully renovated library media center.
Gone are the tall stacks of books, replaced by an open concept space with modern furniture and technology.
John Cavanaugh, the superintendent of the Millcreek Township School District, said the new library is part of a larger renovation project that will add air conditioning to the building.
He said that the space was designed with learning in mind, providing areas for small and large groups to collaborate on class projects and do research.
"We think this allows students extra space to get together to collaborate," said Cavanaugh. "They're big enough areas where classes will come down as groups. They might send some students down individually. There's different spaces over there where you
