A White Rock shooting that left the garage door of a Pacific Avenue home riddled with bullet holes this week is believed to be connected to extortion, police have confirmed.

White Rock RCMP are now asking anyone with information to call police in the incident that happened in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 27.

A neighbour told Peace Arch News he heard what "sounded like machine gun fire" at around 3:20 a.m. and that police were on the scene of a home in the 15500-block of Pacific "for the day."

"They marked the bullet (holes) on the garage door and examined the crime scene and have been talking to neighbours looking for video footage," the neighbour said.
