ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - Students at Concord High School celebrated a major accomplishment Friday.

Members of the construction trades and carpentry pathway sold their first tiny home.

A group of 60 third year students spent the 2024-2025 school year building this tiny masterpiece from the foundation up.

This project-based learning opportunity gave students real-world experience in building and finishing a tiny home.

“Even for the students who aren’t going into the trades any of the trades, construction, electricity, anything. For one thing it’s a great program for them to learn their basic skills for one day when they are a homeowner,” said Brian Tompkins a construction teacher at Concord High School.

Next year’s students will take on a tiny home project, too.
