LANSING — A Lansing man has been sentenced to probation for submitting fraudulent grant applications to the state .
Leslie Buck, 25, was also sentenced to 300 days in jail and given credit for 100 already served, according to a news release from the Attorney General's Office. The remaining 200 days will be suspended and waived if he successfully completes the two-year probation sentence.
Buck submitted fraudulent grant applications to the Michigan Department of Treasury's Growing MI Business program, according to the release. The state used the program to distribute hundreds of millions in American Rescue Plan Act funds and the Lansing Police Department alerted the treasury department about Buck's applications.
