Labor Day weekend is a great time to visit friends and family, but it's also one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

A spokesperson for AAA said Friday and Monday will be the busiest travel days, but drivers can expect traffic throughout the whole weekend.

She said she recommends travelers leave early in the morning or wait and leave in the early evening to avoid that traffic.

But gas prices are about 10 to 15 cents lower than they were at this time last year, with the national average sitting at 3-20 cents a gallon.
