Honolulu firefighters on Thursday night responded to a fire involving golf carts in Kailua.

The 911 call to the Honolulu Fire Department came in at 11:18 p.m. Thursday for a fire at 770 Auloa Road, the address for the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club in Maunawili Valley. Nine units with 34 personnel responded, with the first arriving on scene in 12 minutes.

Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple golf cars ablaze on the first floor of a parking structure.

After an offensive fire attack, firefighters brought the fire under control at 12:20 a.m. and fully extinguished it at 1:19 a.m.

Honolulu Emergency Services Department treated one person for smoke inhalation.

An investigation is underway to determine the fire’s origin and cause, along with estimated damages.
