The Padres placed Xander Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list Friday with a non-displaced fracture in his left foot. The expectation is that the 32-year-old shortstop has a chance to return for the postseason, but Jose Iglesias appears to be the shortstop going forward for now.
Iglesias is starting at shortstop on Friday (5:10 p.m. on Padres.TV), while utility infielder Mason McCoy has been recalled from Triple-A El Paso.
Bogaerts fouled a ball off his left foot on Wednesday in Seattle.
