AUSTIN, Texas — A man has been arrested following the death of his girlfriend in April.
The Austin Police Department said they received a call just before 6 a.m. on April 24, with the caller reporting that his girlfriend was unconscious and not breathing.
When officers arrived, they located the unresponsive woman, identified as 57-year-old Regina Jones. Medics with Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) attempted life-saving measures but she was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists investigated the scene. The caller, identified as 43-year-old Reginald Crosby, admitted to getting into an argument with Jones the night before, but his statements suggested that Jones died from choking on food.
An autopsy on Jones revealed a subdural hematoma,
