Football is finally here in Boone County, and all eight schools will kick off the 2025 season this evening.

Two schools will see the debuts of their new coaches. Shawn Gaines will begin a new era with Battle, who is welcoming North Kansas City at home. Tyler Tanner took over Southern Boone this past offseason, and the Eagles will travel to Odessa to open up their season.

Three other Boone County teams open up their seasons at home. Rock Bridge will host Park Hill in a rematch after going into three overtimes last year in Kansas City. Hickman will also look to avenge a Week 1 loss from a season ago as it hosts Marquette. Centralia lost on the road to Mexico last year by four points, but will play the Bulldogs in front of their home crowd.
