STANTON COUNTY, Neb. (KTIV) - Officials in Stanton County, Nebraska are continuing a boil order into early September.

The boil order began on Aug. 21 after E. Coli was detected in local water sources.

Officials initially thought the issue would be resolved by Aug. 29, but ended up extending the boil order through Thursday, Sept. 4.

In a Facebook post, the Stanton County Emergency Management Agency provided the following update for residents:

1. City Staff continue to take water samples and physically sending them to the state lab. More samples will be taken on Tuesday and will have results on Wednesday. Additional samples will be taken on Wednesday, and results will be here on Thursday, September 4th.
