SALT LAKE CITY — Northbound lanes of Redwood Road were closed at Interstate 80 Friday morning due to an accident that left a motorcyclist with serious injuries, officials said.
The Utah Department of Transportation advised all drivers to use an alternate route, and it didn’t give an estimated time for reopening.
All traffic traveling north on Redwood Road was forced to get onto eastbound interstate 80.
Sgt. Miles Southworth with the Salt Lake City Police Department said a motorcycle and a box truck collided, and traffic was still blocked on northbound Redwood Road from 400 South to the freeway.
Southworth said the motorcyclist had serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
This is a developing story and it may be updated.
