SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The start of Notre Dame football season is officially here, and it doesn’t get much bigger than this.

The No. 6 Fighting Irish are traveling to South Florida for a top 10 showdown with the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes. It’s the third time in Marcus Freeman’s four seasons as head coach that they’re starting the season with an away game at a ranked opponent.

The biggest storyline heading into this game is, of course, the quarterback position. CJ Carr is making his first career start, and it couldn’t be coming on a bigger stage.

Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock talked about how he’s tailoring the playcalling with that in mind.
