SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WNDU) - The city of South Haven, Michigan says active beach monitoring will end after the Labor Day holiday.

According to our reporting partners at the Herald Palladium starting Tuesday the city will no longer monitor swimming conditions.

Additionally, they will not raise beach safety flags.

However, life rings and throw bags will still be on the city’s piers throughout the fall and winter seasons.

These safety devices will continue to be regularly inspected to ensure they are available, secure and in proper working condition.
