Deputy Chief Chris Sargent has been selected as the next chief of police of the Perrysburg Police Division.

Deputy Chief Sargent, who is currently serving as interim police chief, joined the Perrysburg division in 2021 as patrol operations lieutenant and was promoted to deputy chief in 2023.

“I’m proud to name Deputy Chief Chris Sargent as our next chief of police,” Mayor Tom Mackin said. “His strong leadership, commitment to community engagement and clear vision for public safety reflect the values of our city. I’m confident he will continue to build trust and keep our community safe.”

Prior to coming to Perrysburg, Deputy Chief Sargent was a member of the Ottawa Hills Police Department for more than 17 years, where he served as a patrol sergeant, property and evidence room supervisor,
