STILLWATER — Mike Gundy needed to learn about his Oklahoma State football team on Thursday night.
The Cowboys earned the expected result — a 27-7 home win over UT Martin — but the biggest question mark after the season opener surrounded an ineffective run game.
OSU had issues with its ground game against the Skyhawks, especially after starting quarterback Hauss Hejny left with a lower body injury in the first quarter.
“We weren’t very good on offense,” Gundy said after the victory. “We’re a little bit over three yards a carry and I’d love to have that at four-and-a-half yards a carry rushing the ball.”
