Highland Park -- Firefighters this morning knocked down a fire in Highland Park that damaged at least three vehicles, Fox 11 reported .

Fire crews were able to prevent the flames from damaging the nearby historic monument Casa de Adobe at 4605 N. Figueroa St.

The fire, which was reported at 3:11 am, was extinguished in about 20 minutes, according to Margaret Stewart with the L.A. Fire Department. There were no reports of injuries.

An Eastsider reader said the fire in the 4600 block of Woodside Drive came very close to a nearby apartment complex.
