The former Montgomery County library director has filed a lawsuit in federal court claiming that county commissioners and the county judge discriminated against her when they fired her earlier this year.

Rhea Young was appointed the library director for the Montgomery County library system in 2022 and was terminated Jan. 28 , following a closed-door session of the Montgomery County Commissioners Court. At the time, County Judge Mark Keough told Community Impact in a statement the library system was "vital" and he wanted a director who "shares the values of the community and respects the direction of commissioners court."
