SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Businesses in North San Angelo now have access to financial help as they recover from July’s flooding.
The San Angelo City Council approved a resolution on Aug.19, authorizing up to $1 million for the North Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) to assist commercial property owners impacted by the July 4 flooding event.
According to city officials, 72 properties within the North TIRZ sustained damage ranging from minimal to significant during the storm. The program establishes a pool of funding to help those businesses make repairs.
Under the plan, according to the city’s website, eligible properties can apply for up to $55,000 each to cover costs such as: • Building and site renovations • Environmental remediation • Safety improvements
