Those who get Supplemental Security Income checks won't get a check during the calendar month of September – but not because of any problem with Social Security .

Beneficiaries are actually scheduled to get their September SSI payment on Friday, Aug. 29, according to the Social Security Administration’s calendar .

SSI payments are typically issued on the first day of the month, but when the first of the month lands on a weekend or a holiday, as it does in September (Sept. 1 is Labor Day), the payments go out early.

A similar situation happened in June, with SSI recipients getting payments on May 1 and May 30 – and will happen again in November, with that month's check being issued Oct. 31, according to the SSA calendar .
