INDIANAPOLIS — Neighbors are raising concerns about the safety of an intersection in the Arlington Woods neighborhood on the east side of Indianapolis . They say tall weeds at Elmhurst Drive and East 30th Street are to blame.
“You can’t see to get out, right, left, either way,” Thomas Ewing said. “You have to creep out, which is dangerous, in the street, and see if you’re clear. If you do it at the wrong time, you’re pretty much in bad luck.”
The weeds are growing over the guardrail and are several feet tall.
Ewing has lived in the neighborhood since the 1980s. He’s noticed the weeds have been a problem for the last five to seven years, but usually the city trims them back over the summer. The last two years, he said he hasn’t seen anything cut back.
