(FOX40.COM) — San Joaquin County deputies made two arrests in a homicide case from May this Friday, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.

On May 28, deputies responded to a welfare check around West Eight Mile Road and North Empire Tract. When they arrived at the scene, deputies found the victim approximately 50 yards from her vehicle, deceased with obvious signs of trauma.

Authorities said that detectives identified suspects from an intensive investigation. Both Mateo Jimenez III and Andrew Garcia were taken into custody in connection with this case.
