MT. PLEASANT, Tenn. (WSMV) - A fight is brewing in Mount Pleasant as some residents push back against a proposed development in Maury County.
James Reagan has lived in his home on Zion Road for more than 20 years, and he’s not happy about who could be moving in across the street.
“All over Mount Pleasant, there’s fields everywhere, but John Maher Builders wants that field,” said Reagan.
The field near his home on Zion Rd. and Trotwood Ave. may soon be transformed in a new housing complex. John Maher Builders is planning to build 247 homes on the site which currently sits in Maury County. The builder has requested the property be rezoned and annexed into Mount Pleasant to allow future residents to use city services.
