DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Public Schools is pushing back against a new mandate from the Trump Administration. The back and forth all started over a restroom, an all-gender restroom.

The U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights wants DPS to change district policy. The district and its teachers are pushing back.

"For our educators, I think they know this is a distraction. They've seen how other policies from the trump administration are literally taking a wrecking ball to public ed. They just want to be able to focus on their students in the classroom instead of all this noise," said Rob Gould, President of the Denver Classroom Teachers Association.
