DUNCAN, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Family members of Brittany Foster are gathering for a candlelight vigil Friday on the tenth anniversary of the unsolved homicide.
Foster, who was confined to a wheelchair with cerebral palsy, was found dead by a caretaker inside her home at Hampton Ridge Apartments in Aug. 2015. Her death was ruled a homicide by strangulation a year later.
Darlene Grayson, Foster’s mom, said, “It should have been handled like a murder case, like they typically should have done, they should have taped off her apartment, they should have called in whomever they needed to call in to investigate....they didn’t do any of that in the beginning.”
Duncan police asked the State Law Enforcement Division to take over the investigation in 2020.
The vigil is being held at Piney Grove M
