A community march is planned for Saturday in Lancaster to honor a 33-year-old woman allegedly killed by her husband, who is suspected of fleeing to Peru after the homicide.
The suspect — identified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as 36-year-old Jossimar Cabrera Cornejo — has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Sheylla Cabrera. Her family prefers she be identified by her maiden name, Sheylla Lisbet Gutierrez Rosillo.
Agents of Change Inc., an advocacy group supporting domestic violence survivors, organized the march, which will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at 44811 Sierra Highway and end at Lancaster City Hall at 44933 Fern Avenue.
“Our community will march side by side to keep Sheylla’s memory alive and raise our voices for change,” the group said
