Kansas City, Mo. – The Tigers had been holding out at least a sliver of hope that right-hander Beau Brieske could somehow get himself healthy and return to the bullpen before the end of the season.

That hope has been dashed.

General manager Jeff Greenberg announced before the game Friday that Brieske would likely miss the rest of the season.
