NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — A group of North Ridgeville residents is moving to recall Mayor Kevin Corcoran, accusing him of allowing rapid residential growth to outpace the city’s infrastructure, abusing his power and ignoring community needs.

The organizers say Corcoran has dismissed repeated pleas from residents for help with homebuilder negligence and ongoing warnings about overcrowded schools and lagging safety services response times -- leading them to believe the only way to hold him accountable is at the ballot box.

North Ridgeville’s city charter grants residents the power to remove elected officers through recall elections. Petitioners must gather signatures equal to at least 25% of voters from the last November election – in this case, roughly 5,400 names – and then file the petit
