The Oregon high school football season gets underway Friday, Aug. 29 including The Register-Guard's Game of the Week with Churchill hosting Marist Catholic , with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

In last season's opener, Marist prevailed with a thrilling 33-30 home win . The Spartans went on to capture the Class 4A state title in dominant fashion , while the Churchill Lancers reached the Class 5A quarterfinals and produced their best season in nearly a decade.
