LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens (WABC) -- Major changes are coming this weekend for bus riders in Queens.
Starting Sunday, the second and final phase of the borough's bus network redesign goes into effect.
Thirty-eight routes will be changed in neighborhoods including Long Island City, Jackson Heights and Far Rockaway.
The MTA says the redesign will get riders to the subway faster and reduce the number of turns buses make, leading to shorter travel times.
The first phase of the redesign took effect at the end of June and transit officials have reported faster commutes.
