NORTON — Rain spoiled some of Day 2 of the FM Championship with three lengthy delays at TPC Boston on Friday. But it didn’t stop LPGA rookie Miranda Wang from taking over the top spot in the standings.

The second round was called at 7:15 p.m. Those who didn’t finish their second round on Friday will resume at 7 a.m. on Saturday.

Wang, who joined the LPGA earlier this year , shot 5-over on Friday to give her a score of 11-under through the tournaments first two days.

The 26-year-old had to wait a while to claim the top spot, though, thanks to three separate rain delays throughout the day that halted play.

“I didn’t expect the weather because on the forecast we didn’t see any thunderstorms coming in this morning. But, well, that’s golf,” Wang said.
