CELINA, Texas — Terry and Jennifer Sharber are hopeful and excited for the future — and deeply grateful. Their dream home in Celina is rising from the ground again, but it comes after two devastating chapters in their lives.
Twenty years ago, they lived on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain when Hurricane Katrina struck.
“We had decided we were not leaving that time,” Terry recalled when the mayor announced evacuations before the hurricane hit. “It really is a miserable experience evacuating and leaving.”
