AUGUSTA, Ga (WJBF) - Labor Day is the weekend many people take their last summer vacations.
With hundreds on the roads, officials want to make sure you are staying safe whether you are having a stay-cation or a roadtrip.
AAA states that hotel rates are 11% lower and car rental costs are 3% cheaper compared to last year.
Gas prices are also lower getting more people to travel this holiday weekend.
“We normally don’t travel on holidays because we don’t like to deal with a lot of people. We haven’t seen any speeding or anything,” said traveler Silvia from North Carolina.
Other travelers we spoke with say they weren't surprised with how many people are already on the roads.
