BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Adam Beckerink, a Chicago attorney, pleaded no contest Friday to domestic violence charges involving his late wife, Caitlin Tracey, in Berrien County, Michigan.

As part of a plea deal, Beckerink admitted to contempt of court for violating a no-contact order and acknowledged interfering with Tracey’s attempt to call 911 during one of several reported abuse incidents at her New Buffalo home. The plea spares him a trial that had been scheduled for Sept. 9.

Prosecutors had secured key evidence for trial, including 911 recordings and police body-camera footage of Tracey describing abuse.
