NORTON — Sometimes the third time isn’t a charm.

Jeeno Thitikul , Hannah Green and Lauren Coughlin were closing in on their final hole for Round 2 of the FM Championship when the storm clouds started to roll in.

The trio, who teed off at 8:06 a.m. on Friday at TPC Boston, were delayed two other times throughout the day due to rain. They didn’t want it to be a third time, especially with how close they were to the finish line.

So they, along with their caddies, started running.

“I don’t know who kind of said, ‘Let’s do it.’ I think it was probably Jeeno, and all of us completely agreed,” Green said. “We didn’t want to have to wait for one more delay. We were all slowly jogging and Jeeno was going quicker and we’re all catching up and all the caddies ran as well.
