SHREVEPORT, La. — A man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the July 27 shooting death of a 16-year-old girl in Shreveport.

Jon Scott, 25, was taken into custody today by the Shreveport Police Homicide Unit, along with the U.S. Marshals Task Force. Police found Scott while executing a search warrant at an undisclosed location. He was arrested without incident.

The arrest follows an investigation into a shooting that happened around 1:40 a.m. on July 27 in a shopping center parking lot on North Market Street. Police say a large crowd had gathered when multiple vehicles exchanged gunfire in the roadway.
