NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -A day after Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Susan Monarez was fired and several top agency officials resigned, U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., weighed in on the controversy.

Cassidy spoke with FOX 8 Friday while in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina’s 20th anniversary. He emphasized the need for transparency from the federal government, which now has Robert F. Kennedy Jr. leading the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the CDC’s parent agency.
