GREEN BAY - Following are several takeaways from Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur ’s news conference Aug. 29 about the Packers ’ trade for Micah Parsons :
Matt LaFleur likes Micah Parsons’ competitiveness
LaFleur said his first exposure to Parsons was coaching him at the Pro Bowl after the 2021 season, which was Parsons’ rookie year.
The Pro Bowl, which is no longer played, was notorious for players giving half-hearted effort. But Parsons jumped out to LaFleur and his assistant coaches with how hard he played in the game.
“I think it’s well known, that’s why there’s not a Pro Bowl game anymore, the majority of the guys looked like they were going through the motions, except for one guy,” LaFleur said. “He was trying to wreck shop out there, and he was trying to win.”
