AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Recent swatting incidents at college campuses across the United States have raised alarm among law enforcement agencies.
Universities such as the University of Tennessee, University of Arkansas and Texas Tech University have all been targeted by false reports of active shooters, causing panic and tying up emergency resources.
In response, Amarillo College Police said that they conduct training throughout the year. The department treats every threat as if it's real, ensuring the safety of students and staff.
"We have annual training, we have quarterly training. We have monthly training, where we go over how we're going to respond to an active attack on the campus," said Aaron Huddleston, Chief of Police for the Amarillo College Police Department.
