The burgeoning far northern coastal corridor is set to host more shoppers, with a $12 million proposed expansion to the commercial shopping precinct in Yanchep.
The expansion will help meet the fast-growing population, currently sitting at 14,269 residents and forecast to grow to 37,948 by 2046, according to the local council.
Located on vacant land in the Yanchep Village Shopping Centre precinct, the proposal includes a gym, two medical centres, an automotive centre, and four retail showrooms, along with 112 parking bays.
The development also includes plans for a fast-food outlet featuring a drive-through.
A traffic assessment included in the proposal said there would be no negative impact on any nearby residences.
