Peters Township geared up all week to take on a McKeesport squad led by Penn State recruit Kemon Spell.
But when the Indians arrived at Weigle-Schaeffer Memorial Stadium, they were greeted with the news the junior running back — as well as two of the Tigers’ top linemen — were ruled out of the game.
Needless to say, Peters Township was let down by having the player they’d been amped up to face all week standing on the sideline wearing his game jersey with no pads underneath.
“We didn’t come out and fire on all cylinders and we fixed that at halftime,” Peters Township coach TJ Plack said. “Regardless, it shouldn’t matter. There’s no excuse for it.”
