DAVENPORT, Iowa (KCRG) - A Waterloo man was sentenced to federal prison for attempted enticement of a minor.

47-year-old Gabriel Usher, of Waterloo, was sentenced for attempted enticement of a minor to engage in illegal sexual activities on Friday.

He communicated online with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old in October 2023, according to court documents.

Police say he confessed his affection for the minor within days and suggested they engage in sexual acts.

After Usher’s arrival at the location of a prearranged meeting with the minor, his phone was seized by law enforcement.

In October 2024, he was sentenced to five years in state prison in Black Hawk County for unrelated state charges, including enticing a minor under 16 and sexual exploitation.
