(WTAJ) — Friday night football saw two standout moments in District 6 as Punxsutawney’s Maddox Hetrick and Hollidaysburg’s Vincent Albarano earned top honors for Player and Play of the Week.
Hetrick led the Chucks to a 49-35 victory over DuBois, scoring at least four touchdowns to push Punxsutawney to a 2-0 start this season. His explosive performance helped the team hold off a late DuBois push in a high-scoring matchup.
Meanwhile, Hollidaysburg’s defense highlighted the Golden Tigers’ 28-16 win over Taylor Allderdice. Albarano came up with a highlight-reel interception after the ball was tipped four times in the air before landing in his hands. The turnover halted a potential scoring drive and sealed Hollidaysburg’s second straight win.
Both teams improved to 2-0 on the season.
