SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -A man is facing federal charges after Springfield Police were allegedly led on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash Thursday.

According to court documents, Springfield Police saw James Young get into the passenger side of a car on Aug. 28. Officers on scene knew that Young had an active warrant for his arrest due to him being a suspect in a recent domestic assault.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to yield. While following the vehicle, officers saw Young crawl over the center console and force his way into the driver’s seat. The front driver’s side door opened, and officers observed Young push the female driver from the moving vehicle into the road, according to the probable cause statement.
