Union Township supervisors postponed a vote on stricter zoning laws for solar panel installations after a three-hour public hearing session on Friday.

The meeting saw dozens of citizens voicing their opinions on the proposed changes to zoning laws, with many farmers advocating for their right to lease land for solar panels. The debate reflects ongoing regional discussions about solar farms and their impact on local communities.

"I had never even thought of solar and it seemed to be a happy medium. I could maintain it as a block of land for the family...pass it down. It was ecologically viable and then the revenue. A huge revenue stream to support our school...to support our community," said Tim Church, a farmland owner.
