CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Princeton Tigers kicked off the season with a statement win Friday night, traveling to Capital and coming away with a 28-7 victory in the debut of new head coach Nathan Tanner.
Princeton set the tone early, leading 22-0 at halftime behind a balanced offensive attack.
Quarterback Chance Barker completed 11 of 17 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in the first half, while running back Brad Mossor racked up 147 yards of total offense and scored twice.
By the end of the game, Barker had thrown for 210 yards, and the Tigers’ defense had limited Capital to just 80 yards of total offense.
With the win, Princeton improves to 1-0 and will host its rival, the Bluefield Beavers, next Friday. Capital drops to 0-1 and will travel to face Cabell Midland next week.
