Jack Britt went into a shootout with a hot Wilmington Hoggard squad on Friday, Aug. 29, and wound up just three points behind as the Vikings held on for a 44-41 victory at the Boneyard.

Hoggard quarterback Matthew Boring came out firing as the Vikings marched into the end zone first on David Hunter's touchdown catch but Britt's Eric Payne, who ran for more than 200 yards last week, answered with a 45-yard TD run right up the gut of the Hoggard defense.
