Micah Parsons has gone from Dallas ’ headline act to Green Bay ’ s defining event. The assumption was he’d broker a deal with wide receiver Jayden Reed for the No. 11 he’d worn to stardom in Dallas. He could have gone back to his high school digits, Number 23, but the news broke with Adam Schefter’s tweet:

“Micah Parsons announced he will wear jersey No. 1.” In that simple declaration, a new era was christened. Parsons had previously asked his fans, old and new, “Should I go 0 or 1!” He chose the latter, a digit of singularity, of being first, marking his first chapter with the Packers.

He chose a number untouched by a Packer since the legendary Curly Lambeau himself in 1926. For the Packers, this is their biggest defensive acquisition since Reggie White in 1993. (White
