HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall generated the scoring chances, but had to settle for converting two penalty kicks.

Virginia Tech had limited scoring chances, but mustered two goals and settled for the 2-2 draw against the No. 2 Thundering Herd in front of 2,518 fans Friday night at Hoops Family Field/Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex.

Marshall, favored to win the Sun Belt, is 1-0-1. The Hokies from the ACC are 2-0-1 with a win over No. 3 Ohio State last Thursday at home.
