The first high school football game in the renovated Stanley-Jensen Stadium in Prattville started with a lopsided Lions win against Stanhope Elmore, 43-13 on Friday, Aug. 29.
The honored guests of the evening may have been the ones supplying the winning energy for Prattville.
In between the first and second quarter, Prattville High School honored the school's first state championship team from 1984 to a thundering roar coming from the home fans. This season marks 40 years since Prattville won its first of five state titles.
Prattville defeated J.O. Johnson 17-7 on Dec. 8, 1984, at Legion Field for the Class 6A title in the first year the AHSAA split into six classifications. Prattville went 14-1 to set what was then a single-season program record for wins. TOP 10 MGM HSFB PLAYERS:
